From Dealing with Down’s Sydrome to embracing the Fashion Diva in her
Manju’s world changed the day she held Disha in her arms. The doctors told her what many fear to hear — her baby had Down syndrome, a genetic condition that comes with a range of developmental and health challenges. But while there were tears, there was never doubt. Manju embraced motherhood with fierce determination.
From Exhaustion to Empowerment
“After a few years, I was drained,” Manju recalls. “I wasn’t eating well, I was barely sleeping, and my back constantly hurt from lifting and supporting Disha.” Disha is facing gut issues/Digestion and constipation. She promised herself that she would be fit first and educate her own Daughter Disha too.
“I knew I had to become stronger — physically, mentally, emotionally. If I wanted to give Disha the best support, I had to start with myself.” No one else can replace a mother’s care for her Daughter”
A Fitness Routine Fueled by Love
Manju began walking or goes straight on the mat in the mornings, adds strength training and practice meditation and yoga at home by watching Utube videos. She had given up on joining the very ritualistic and fast paced classes. She consulted a nutritionist and an osteopath to heal her over the year injuries and ailments and slowly transformed her lifestyle. Each workout became a declaration: I am here for you, Disha I will not give up and shall stay fit to take care of Disha.
For Manju Kanwar, fitness is no longer just about health — it’s a promise, a mission born out of love and necessity. Her daughter is the driving force behind her daily commitment to physical and emotional strength, promises herself everyday to remain fit forever by having healthy eating habits/doing meditation/yoga/slow paced fitness regime.
“Here she is very positive emotionally and physically available for her daughters all the time.”
