Plans this weekend? Canada’s longest-running South Asian festival is returning to Mississauga

Mosaic Festival, Canada’s longest running South Asian festival turns 20 this year, and you’re invited, for the biggest, bestest celebration in the GTA this weekend.

Set to run on the 1st and 2nd of August at Celebration Square, Mosaic Festival promises to a special celebration featuring A-list artists from India and Pakistan, coming together to celebrate the two countries’ joint heritage, culture, and art. Entry to the festival is free.

Who’s set to perform?

Taking to the main stage at Mosaic Festival 2025 are a host of talented South Asian performers who are set to amaze audiences and provide them a memorable weekend, including:

  • Aima Baig, Pakistani singer and model
  • Apache Indian, British-Indian singer-songwriter
  • Mekaal Hasan Band, a progressive rock group from Pakistan
  • Nitin Mirani, host, comedian, and entertainer
  • Shahzad Ali, Qawwali music artist
  • Ali Kazmi, Pakistani-Canadian actor
  • Josh the Band, Canadian Bhangra music group
  • Bollywood Dance School Canada
  • Jadoo Entertainment fusion dance school
  • DJ Raj, singer and musician
  • David R. Maracle, Indigenous, multi-instrumental artist
  • Shallum Xavier, Pakistani origin guitarist, composer, and music producer
  • Sampradaya Dance Creations
  • Sauga Plein Air Group, on-site visual artists

The festival is free and takes place on Aug. 1 and 2 at Celebration Square, Mississauga

What else is on offer?

Apart from the main stage events, Mosaic Festival 2025 will also feature a host of other attractions that celebrate creativity and the arts, such as:

  • The Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival is Canada’s premier festival of new South Asian and select Middle Eastern cinema.
  • Rock the Coliseum is back at Celebration Square Mississauga with a 20th anniversary celebration, with an exciting line up slated for 2025.
  • Mosaic Rising Star, a popular attraction for aspiring musical artists. Due to increasing public interest, the event is now recorded and released in episodes, providing artists an opportunity to add to their portfolio a professionally recorded video.
  • Mosaic Soundz brings together musicians and genres from diverse backgrounds. This cultural collaboration creates exciting new music showcasing ingenuity in the Canadian musical landscape.

The event is run in coordination with the Canadian Community Arts Initiative, which presents visual art, literary art, dance, theatre, film and music for the enjoyment and education of the community.
