Northbound innovation: Bengaluru tech firm Happiest Minds bets big on Canada

Tech firm Happiest Minds, one of India’s fastest-growing companies, is planning to invest in Canada and set up operations in the country later this year, thanks to efforts from the High Commission of India in Canada.

A partnership years in the making

The connection between Happiest Minds Technologies and Canada’s investment promotion teams goes back to 2018, when representatives first met during the Consider Canada City Alliance (CCCA) Roadshow in India. That initial engagement sparked ongoing conversations about the opportunities for Indian tech firms in Canada’s thriving innovation ecosystem.

Since then, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) team in Delhi has maintained close contact with tech firm Happiest Minds, fostering a relationship built on trust, information sharing, and collaboration. A recent high-level visit by Jennifer Daubeny, Acting High Commissioner of Canada to India, further strengthened these ties and signaled Canada’s commitment to deepening partnerships with leading Indian technology players.

Canada: a gateway for global tech

Now, this long-standing dialogue is set to deliver results, with Happiest Minds Technologies preparing to invest in Canada—a move that underscores Canada’s growing reputation as a prime destination for global tech companies.

With competitive business costs, access to global markets, and strong government initiatives that encourage research, development, and innovation, Canada offers a powerful launchpad for companies seeking to expand their international footprint. The Happiest Minds investment will not only bring new jobs and expertise but also enhance Canada–India tech collaboration on a larger scale.

Looking ahead

While full details of Happiest Minds’ Canadian investment are yet to be announced, the ongoing partnership is a testament to Canada’s proactive engagement with India’s tech sector. It also reflects a shared vision: fostering innovation, driving growth, and building bridges between two thriving digital economies.

A strong North American presence

Tech firm Happiest Minds already has a strong presence in the US, having recently been recognized among the Top Workplaces 2025 in the Technology category by Top Workplaces USA.

The recognition is based entirely on feedback from Happiest Minds’ US team members, collected through an independent and confidential survey. The survey looked at how connected people feel to their work, their leaders, and the company’s direction. Out of more than 500 participating companies, Happiest Minds was selected for creating a workplace where people feel respected, supported, and aligned with the company’s values.
