Mississauga to welcome Indian spiritual leader BK Shivani this August

If you’re seeking peace of mind, clarity, and a deeper connection to your inner self, then you need to attend Indian spiritual leader BK Shivani’s visit to Mississauga on Aug. 16 and 17.

The in-person event, called ‘Inner Freedom through Spirituality’, is being held by the Brahma Kumaris of Toronto, and aims to guide you on a spiritual journey with the goal of helping you unlock your true potential and find inner freedom.

During BK Shivani’s visit to Mississauga, she will be speaking in Hindi on Aug. 16, and in English on Aug. 17. Both sessions are free to attend, and registration is currently under way. At the event, she will provide insights on how to overcome challenges such as mental stress, depression, low self-esteem and unhappy relationships, followed by a guided meditation.

Promoting practical aspects of meditation

BK Shivani’s visit to Mississauga comes as a member of the Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual organization founded in India in the 1930s, promote a modern, accessible form of Raja Yoga meditation that is deeply practical and focused on daily spiritual living through the following tenets:

  • Meditation without postures: it is a mental process, not physical.
  • Focus on soul consciousness: it promotes self-respect and emotional stability.
  • Connection with a supreme soul: a source of inner strength, guidance, and purification.
  • Daily classes and practical wisdom: sessions combine scriptural teachings, life lessons, and spiritual affirmations.
  • Lifestyle guidance: Raja Yoga is practiced within families and careers.
  • Community and selfless service: practitioners engage in volunteer work and public education.

A spiritual teacher and motivational speaker

During BK Shivani’s visit to Mississauga, she will address emotional challenges such as stress, relationships, and anger: topics that resonate with people around the world. She first became widely known during the TV show ‘Awakening with Brahma Kumaris’, which began airing on Indian TV channel Aastha in 2007.

Her YouTube channel has more than six million subscribers, with her videos regularly being watched by tens of thousands around the world.

She has given talks in over 30 countries, as well as at international conferences, universities, corporations, and UN-affiliated forums. She is particularly popular with the Indian diaspora, particularly in Canada, the US, and the UK.

In 2019, she was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar – India’s highest civilian award for women – for her work in spiritual empowerment.
